IssieBoard is a customizable keyboard app developed by SAP Laboratories in Israel, in collaboration with the Technology Consulting Center of Beit Issie Shapiro
The app is developed for the iOS platform and allows for customization of the keyboard.
Once the app has been downloaded, the keyboard needs to be turned on in the iPad settings.
(settings - General - Keyboards - Add New Keyboard - IssieBoard)
After turning the keyboard on it can be used on the iPad in any app where typing is used, simply by switching between keyboards.
The keyboard is appropriate for individuals with learning disabilities, visual impairments, motor impairments, and cognitive impairments. It can also be used to assist individuals learning to type.
Customization features of the keyboard can be found in the app settings and include:
1. Customization of color of keys, letters, and keyboard background.
2. Customization of color of keys, letters, and background color by row, or sections of the keyboard (right, middle, left).
3. Customization of color of specified keys.
4. Customization of letters that will appear on the keyboard (all other letters will be blocked out) in order to practice typing of specific words.
There is a wide range of color choices available such that customization can be optimized for the individual user.

לאחר הגדרת המקלדת ניתן להשתמש בה בכל יישום של האייפד על ידי מעבר בין מקלדות. המקלדת מתאימה ללקויי למידה, לקויי ראיה, ילדים ומבוגרים עם לקויות מוטוריות, לקויות קוגניטיביות ואף ילדים ומבוגרים שנמצאים בתחילת תהליך למידת ההקלדה
במסך ההגדרות ניתן להתאים את התבנית למשתמש לפי המאפיינים הבאים
1) צבע המקשים, צבע האותיות וצבע הרקע לכל המקלדת
2) צבע המקשים, צבע האותיות וצבע הרקע לכל המקלדת לפי אזורים במסך (ימין – אמצע – שמאל) או לפי שורות
3) הגדרת צבע שונה רק לאותיות מסוימות
4) הגדרת האותיות שיופיעו במקלדת (העלמת שאר האותיות) לצורך תרגול מילים מסוימות
קיים מגוון רב של צבעים לבחירה כך שניתן לעשות התאמה מקסימלית למשתמש.
